Re: Protx Gateway and 3D Secure
3D Secure is not supported by the Protx implementation in 7.1. This is because of the way 3D secure works. It can not be incorporated in normal transaction sequence of payment gateway API. This is a pretty incredible answer - are you really saying "it doesn't work the way we want it to so we'll jus...

Protx Gateway and 3D Secure
Hi Does anybody know if the implementation of the Protx gateway included in release 7.1 included support for 3D Secure transactions? I ask because I was under the impression that support was there, but can find no way to inidcate that a specific card type needs to check for enrolment in 3d secure, a...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
Actually, not quite correct. If you're based in the UK, but your sales into Italy are greater than the Italian VAT threshold, then you have to register in Italy as well and charge the Italian VAT rate, unless you know the customer's VAT number. In my world, the client's VAT number is held in the acc...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
I'll wholeheartedly disagree with that.. How can you create user/company profiles on the site, without storing VAT numbers (whether they are eligible for VAT exemption or not)? Surely the whole purpose of the user profile is to model exactly that - the defining characteristics of a user? Without th...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
No, I think it is fair.. An ecommerce site has to be able to store and export basic financial data - what the customer/SAGE does with it after that is purely accounting - and that's the division.. If that were not the case, why enable order export at all? Is this data "accounting"? No, it's CLEARLY...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
VAT is still not properly supported. A trade accounts/user profiles VAT number has to be stored in the "Comment" field (i.e. a field that isn't used by AC). Alternatively, a new table could be built with additional fields, associated with the ac_Users table. Whichever method is employed (the Commen...

Re: Bug in minicart
This problem only manifests itself when the first page on the site that the visitor lands on has a minicart on it, and when there is no cookies in the browser cache to identify the user. Try this: clear your browser cache, and navigate to page that includes the mini basket. We only spotted the behav...

Bug in minicart
Hi We just spent some time figuring out an issue that has been reported on these forums but never answered. The issue is this: the first time somebody browses to your site, they get an object null exception. This is caused by a potential design flaw in the minicart. This component overrides the prei...

Re: 12/1 - AbleCommerce Data Client Utility 7.0.34
Hi I've downloaded 7.0.34 and tried it against my shiny new installation of 7.1. It reports a version error when first run up - apparently this is not for 7.1? Also, one of my requests earlier which did get some support was to allow the export of products with variants, one row per variant, in the C...

Hi Is it possible using the Store Upload to update the fields in the ProductCustomFiled table? However, when we modified the custom field node and uploade...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
[EDIT] Reading back over this thread - there is a VERY important omission: If you sell goods to consumers in another EU country, each EU country has a threshold value of annualised sales, above which it is necessary to register for VAT in that country and thereafter charge that country's rate of VA...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
I suggest that if you're now intending to address VAT properly, you need to take some professional advice rather than seeking lay opinions here. VAT is a massively complex and ever-changing subject. There are professionals who make it their business to understand it all, keep abreast of changes and...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
Hi Logan I've had a look through the screens and I just want to check something with you. VAT is PRODUCT specific. In the UK, most product classes are 17.5%, but books are 5% and food and childrens clothing are 0%. I didn't see in the screen grabs you provided where you assign the correct VAT rate t...

Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
Suppose you have a product that includes your 17.5% VAT, but you have to sell the product to someone in another country and you need to charge a 15% VAT instead. Does this situation ever occur? No, this will never occur. VAT on overseas sales works like this: If I in the UK sell to a French consume...

Hi Logan Here's what you need to do for an invoice. The numeric values shown are correct. You can see that it is intended to show the VAT rate for each item in the basket, as well as a VAT total, an ex-VAT total and the total to be paid. Hope this helps cheers tony p.s. Re: VAT tax not currently supported and UK processors.
Hi Logan Thanks for your postings. I appreciate your efforts with VAT. In answer to your questions about entering prices exclusive of VAT, the reason I feel that a choice should be given is that how products are priced is dependent on the nature of the business of the store owner. If they normally s...
