Re: CommerceBuilder IIS error with VisionCore Integration Tool

We battled Visioncore for a few years before throwing in the towel... I hope you have more success than we did. It would connect just fine, but their bridge regularly edited or deleted data from our AC site. Does the AC site run fine on its own? Is the AC db and VC db on the same server? Same server...

Re: Over 1000 of these errors in 2 days.

We've started getting these errors out of the blue. Never had them before.

AbleCommerce for ASP.NET
VERSION: 7.0.7.14588
MSSQL v2005
AC SCHEMA v2005
.NET CLR v2.0.50727.5466

What did you do to fix the records or did the error go away on its own?

Re: Accounting Software - Does anything integrate well?

I must wave a huge red flag for VisionCore (Comtech Solutions). We wasted several years while they tried to get their integration to work. Unless they've MASSIVELY re-worked their solution in the last year, I'd strongly recommend against them. We're talking bugs that deleted large portions of data o...

We've been using MaxMind for several years with great results. We've integrated the test results with our order confirmation emails to automatically alert our staff.

Two thumbs up!

Address formatting issue

I did a quick search and found a few other, old, reports of problems with address formatting. http://forums.ablecommerce.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=12471&hilit=address+formatting We (IT group) were asked to change the address formatting of a few foreign countries. Easy enough it seemed. Configure\Regi...

Re: What is this error?

Bringing an old thread back to life. We encountered this error yesterday. (AC 7.0.7) We also noticed it caused OrderID and OrderNumber to get out of synch within the ac_Payments table. For those that have encountered this error, did you happen to notice if OrderID and OrderNumber are now out of sync...

Re: Maintaining a site with both dev and live environments

We use SQL Data Examiner to push db changes from our development server to live site. It is also great for finding db discrepancies between development and live sites. http://www.sqlaccessories.com/SQL_Data_Examiner/ A single user license is only $200 which is nothing compared to the time it saves. ...

Re: AbleCommerce and rapidly growing IIS log files

Thanks for the prompt response. I see one additional field in the logs; sc-bytes. Once we account for traffic differences of 2k vs 11k, it sounds like ours are still running a bit larger comparatively. I am wondering if longer than average rows in the log file would account for the size difference? ...

AbleCommerce and rapidly growing IIS log files

Our hosting company has brought an issue with AC to our attention. It seems our IIS logs are growing by close to 1GB a day and are growing massively large. We have roughly 11k unique visitors a day to our site. (And they tend to stick around on the site for quite a while.) Is this a common issue wit...

Re: AbleCommerce & ERP Integration

After looking at MAS90 and Dynamics GP, management took a turn and picked Quickbooks Enterprise. We tried eBridge for integration between the AC and QB but they could not accomodate our customization requests. We burned too much time with them. We gave the AbleMods integration bridge a shot and had ...

Zipcode address lookup? - Not for taxes

Does anyone use a zipcode lookup for addresses? Our sales staff have been asking for something that would autofill the city and state based on the zipcode entered.

Thanks!

We do not work out the customs/duties for our customers. Those are their responsibility. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you. Since customs change from country to country, you may need to find a specialist.

Re: Restricting payment options via User Group

Yes, looked at those and that certainly helps during initial order entry. If you go to an existing order, all of the payment methods are available under Record Payment. They also have the ability to edit existing payments. I've logged in as sales staff to confirm this. It's unlikely our sales staff ...

Restricting payment options via User Group

Interesting responses. I am planning on using Windows Server 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2 on a separate server. Anyone else doing this? Yup. No problems here. We get about 11k unique visitors a day. *However*. SQL Profiler is your friend and you may find a few additional indexes to be highly ben...

Live site broken after development site updated - Tax calcs

Hello all, We have a development site and live site on one of our servers. (Different web services, pools, etc...) Both are at 7.0.4. Re: AbleCommerce & ERP Integration

Jim, Unfortunately, the most recent updates solved some problems but created others and was the last straw for us. There's a tremendous amount of potential there, but has never delivered. In retrospect, going with a more robust system would have ultimately been less expensive in the long run. We bur...

Do a search and you'll find some of my posts relating to the troubles we've had with VC and their bridge. We would *NOT* recommend either product.

We are currently shopping MAS 90 and their Visual Integrator against MS Dynamics GP & eBridge. Both offer mature and robust ERP systems.

Re: Rebuilding and starting over (related to VisionCore)

If a simple restore would do the trick, I'd give it a shot in a heartbeat. No problems there. The problem I am seeing is the data the bridge ate/modified now have new ProductIDs and VCId's.(internal VC code.) Since these are primary keys and used in multiple tables, any restore of live data will hav...

Re: Errors generated by custom indexing during upgrades

Got all that and was not part of my question. I have seen other AC users adding indexes to improve performance. I get the impression this may not be uncommon. If fields are being dropped during an upgrade, is it possible for AC to check for any additional dependencies on the field in question? (ie. ...
