Re: Tax calculation error
Thanks Logan. I suspected as much on the warehouse issue and understand the complexity. I think we can live with it for the time being and get help like you suggested if need be. On the Maryland issue, you say an easy fix... did you mean something I could do directly into the code, or do you mean ea...

Incorrect Maryland Sales Tax
It appears that Able is not calculating sales tax for Maryland correctly. MARYLAND DOES NOT ROUND TO 2 DECIMALS. Instead, Maryland rounds up to the next penny. For example, If you buy something for $1.01 in Maryland, and Maryland has 6% sales tax, you would actually pay 7 cents in sales tax. Here ar...

Re: Tax calculation error
I called Virginia to re-ask the question.. the agent i talked to this time showed me an online form that shows Virginia uses standard rounding to the 2nd decimal. So it seem to me that Able is following the right methodology but messed up the rounding on this order. $211.74 * 0.05 = $10.5870, which ...

Tax calculation error
My customers in Virginia pay 5% tax. I had an order yesterday for $211.74. AbleCommerce calculated $10.58 in tax. Virginia, like most but not all states, requires upwards rounding to the next 20 cents. So this purchase should have been treated like a $211.80, which means $10.59 is the correct tax am...

discount sequence issue
Hi All, This is a tricky one. The other day I got a telephone order. I put 2 items in the basket and proceed to checkout. The customer has two coupons. The first offers 10% off the order excluding item 1. The second offers $5 off item 1. When I enter the first coupon (%) into the system, then the se...

Re: Silly Sitemap Question
This worked great!
One more thing... the sitemap here just captures the ablecommerce store. Is there any code i can add that will bring in the other sites I have? Able is my store, but i have lots of other static pages for educational purposes.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Silly Sitemap Question
Hi,
Has there been any fix provided for this issue?
IF not, could I manually go into my sitemap and just delete the lines with hidden products and categories? is there any checksum or something that would invalidate the file?
Thanks
Brian

Re: Gift Certificate Transactions in AC7
This has been very helpful in getting the certificate number into an email.
Does anyone know how to put the gift certificate amount in the e-mail?
So the email reads:
"Your gift certificate for $100 has been activated. Please use code: 7298347329874932."
Thanks,
Brian

Customer check gift certificate balance
Hi,
How can a customer check his own gift certificate balance?
I see how the customer who buys the gift certificate can find it within the order, but after the buyer gives the gift to someone else, how does the recipient check?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: selective coupon applications
Mahar, Thank you for your reply. Your answer was helpful with how to apply the coupon on the back end. but let me rephrase the question.... I have two employees.. myself and John who works in the warehouse. We both help customers with orders. Both of us have access to the back end... both of us can ...

Triggers for POS
Hi, I am using Able as my point of sale. So when the customer comes into my store, I log into the back end and place the order. For orders placed in the store, I set the "Affiliate_ID" to "InStore" which is a value I set up in the affiliate set up so I can differentiate Internet orders from InStore ...

Returns management - negative quantity orders
Instead of the current returns process of returning an inventory item within a completed order, which requires manual adjustments, it might be nice to allow customer service agents (based on security level) to input negative quantity orders. By conducting the return through a formal order, we automa...

Hi, Anyone have an idea about how to provide a coupon that can only be applied by my customer service department? For example, we get a call from a customer and i want to provide a closing tool to customer service to offer an extra 10% off. However, I don't want that code to be usable by any custome...

Cannot ship to different address for telephone order
When i take a telephone order using the back end of able commerce, after i place the order and come to the checkout screen, i put in the user's billing info. by default the shipping is "same as billing address" and i can choose from any of my shipping methods: "in-store pickup" or UPS Ground (UPS is...

Re: Gift Certificates question
Mazhar, I went into the code and made the change. It lets me add a gift certificate payment to the order, which is terrific. Please refer to http://forums.ablecommerce.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=8193&p=35014#p35014 It is not possible to use a gift certificate when a customer calls in on the phone because the back-end order payment does not offer gift certificate as a payment option. Re: Gift Certificates question
Joe, I did some more poking around here, and it seems that what you said is only true if you place the order from scratch starting on the visitor side. The scenario I'm planning around is that customer calls me. I go into the back end, find the user, then create a new order. I select the items he wa...

I also having a hard time figuring out how to redeem a gift certificate for an order being paid over the phone. When you check out online, it clearly gives gift certificate as a payment option. password reset possible bug
Hi. I was experimenting with password reset today and might have found a bug. When a user forgets their password, they hit "forgot password" on the account sign in page and enter their email address. Able sends a link to the password reset. When I type the new password, hit tab, then retype the new ...

Using Ablev7 as POS
We're considering ways to use Able 7.0 as a POS for our low volume showroom to avoid investing in a standalone system. I'm running through some scenarios and wondered if experts could weigh in. For a customer who is a registered customer or one who is willing to get registered on the spot, it seems ...

Re: Email setup problem.
I'm new to able and had this issue. you might put "localhost" in the server name and port 25 and do not authenticate. the email went through for me after changing this. then you might update/create an spf record so your email from able doesn't get labeled as spam. you add a text record into your dom...
