Me too! I'm thinking of building an offline DB with an interface optimized for speedy product management that can feed updates/additions to the site automatically by invoking DP with a command line. Judy, Good question. I wish I had the answer. It seems odd and rather dysfunctional that the default selection for an option is 'blank'! Naveed, Thanks for the guidance. That worked perfectly! In addition to making it possible to import new products with variants, the XML import also allowed me to specify additional images for each product and swatches for variants. I've had good success importing new products with DataPort in CSV format, but the inability to import variants via CSV is a serious drawback.
