Localization status
I have read some of the older posts and I know localization is not the easiest problem to solve but was wondering the current state of it in able, if anything is planned and so forth. Basically, I'd like to be able to create the same store but support a couple of other languages (and currencies). I ...

getting this error on uploading a new logo
I am getting this error when I try to upload a new logo and I have no idea why this would occur since I must have uploaded my logo to begin with (R12 by the way).

Re: HELP! Ajax and jquery
Whenever I run into this sort of thing, my go-to tools are chrome and use the tools (f10) to see what's occurring client-side and for server-side, I rely on Fiddler.

Re: Uploading large digital goods file
In the time waiting for a response, I FTPd the file over to the server and then manually populated a new record in the ac_DigitalGoods table. That solved my immediate problem. I did check and you are right about the max size is specified in KBs so I updated the web.config with the correct value. Not...

Uploading large digital goods file
I have run into the 4MB issue in the past but simply updated my web.config to allow very large uploads for my digital goods. This has worked fine but I now have a 66 MB file that is failing about 45% into the upload. My largest file prior to this is around 7 MB. This is my setting in my web.config: ...

Customer reviews
I have reviews from customers for products in a prior commerce system. I would like to migrate these to my ablecommerce site. I migrated customer and product data but not orders. Is there a recommended approach to get these reviews added to the database? From what I can see, there are a few tables -...

Square support
Any thoughts of adding support for Square? They have an API, already PCI compliant.

Re: can't add user with .engineering email address
Thanks Katie. I'm probably fine until August, providing you can validate this as a temporary workaround that I've developed. I've done this on my staging site and it seems to work. 1. Register the account with the .engineering TLD but adding a .com to the end of it (e.g., mike@acme.engineering.com)....

Re: can't add user with .engineering email address
Thanks and that's fine when one has the CommerceBuilder source - I don't. In my opinion this should be fixed in the next release, don't you think? There are more and more of these TLDs, some very long. Anyone with a valid email address should be able to purchase, otherwise it's TLD-discrimination! F...

can't add user with .engineering email address
I have a customer with an email address like joe@blahblah.engineering. ".engineering" is one of the newer domains (not all that new actually). There are lots of these new alternates to .com/.net/org. Anyway, I get this error message when I try to add him manually: Email address should be in the form...

Re: Adding a digital good where no order exists
I'm using the latest, Gold R12. Very nice by the way!
This is a one-off thing, so the zero cost order is the way to go. But I'm going to look in the group functionality to learn more about it.
Thanks,
Mike

Adding a digital good where no order exists
So here is the problem I want to solve: I have a registered customer to whom I want to provide a digital good but without having to create an order. In other words, just add it to his account. Is there a way to do this? The only way I can see to do this is to create a zero-cost order (using 100% cou...

best place to put javascript in conlib controls
I was wondering what is the recommended approach for using javascript in ConLib controls. I see in some cases it's done in code. Others, perhaps just put in the <script>...</script>< in the user controls themselves. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Re: Multi-language support
it would be cool if you supported the native .net solution for localization which has been around forever. It involves having the translated strings for your product data (and ablecommerce would have to have the same for the text of the controls). Google translate is sort of hit and miss from what I...

Re: AC Gold PayPal IPN stopped working
Are you able to install Fiddler on the server? You would at least be able to see if PayPal is sending back the correct data. Presumably it is with a 200 result, but nice to see if the format or data has changed in anyway.

Re: importing customers
I solved the problem, which turns out to be mostly simple. For anyone that is curious, I wrote a console app to insert a customer and then any customer addresses and then just loop through each customer in turn. You need to reference NHibernate, NHibernate.Caches.SysCache, System.Web and of course C...

301 redirect strategy and URL rewriting
I'm trying to implement a 301 redirect strategy. It should be simple but I can't for the life of me get it working. I'm wondering if the AbleCommerce rewrite code is somehow interfering with my use of the somewhat native .net rewriting engine. This is on a windows 7 test machine and I installed the ...

Re: Bootstrap theme customization - Glyphicons
Not using bootstrap myself but I am working on a responsive theme myself using foundation (which I prefer) which uses SASS, not LESS. I don't see a glyphicons.less file in the bootstrap theme, however, you can definitely download it from getbootstrap.com and it is there along with all the others. As...

importing customers
I’m trying to solve this problem: I have a customer list from another e-commerce app and need to import the customer data into GOLD. While it looks trivial to do direct database access (handful of user tables + ac_Addresses, possibly wishlists, etc.), I was wondering if there is a safe means to do t...

Re: additional web app using able authentication
Yea - a webservice is a good solution.
For what it's worth, I was able to authenticate by adding (to my app) references to the CommerceBuilder, NHibernate and NHibernate.Caches.SysCache assemblies, then adding nhibernate and log4net config files. But a web service is a smarter approach. Thanks.
