Re: GDPR
You need to update your privacy policy to say what you collect, why and what you do with it. That's why you've been getting all these emails - companies are updating their privacy policies to tell you that. The theory is that because you have a contract with the user (they want to buy something), yo...

In R6 there isn't a DO NOT CREATE option, but there is something similar. Here are our checkout options:

PayPal Express 10486 Error handling
PayPal has indicated that about 5% of our PayPal Express orders are failing with error 10486. PayPal said with this error the user should be redirected back to PayPal with the same token to select another funding source. Here's their documentation page: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/expr...

Re: PayPal IPN versus API
Thanks Katie.
I will discuss removing the PayPal payment option with our client. That seems like a worthwhile change to make.
How would we add Website payments pro to the site? Is that something done on the PayPal side or in the Able store configuration?

Re: PayPal IPN versus API
Katie, Thanks for the explanation! There have been times when the authorization has come in hours later, after our admins have already cancelled the order. They're not international orders. Your second response would indicate that the Able order is created before sending the user over to PayPal Expr...

Re: PayPal IPN versus API
Marzhar : we've had debug for PayPal turned on for several months and we're only seeing these type of send entries: Send: <DoCaptureRequestType > Send: <DoVoidRequestType > Send: <DoVoidResponseType > And we're only seeing one type of receive entry: Receive: <DoCaptureResponseType > Nothing for aut...

Re: PayPal IPN versus API
There isn't an entry in the IPN history for the middle (missing) order so I can't get the details. The Able store says the IPN is pending but there are no entries in the IPN history for the pending order. When sorting the IPN history by date/time, I can see IPN history entries for the previous and f...

Re: PayPal IPN versus API
Mahzar, We had the same issue over this past weekend. Three orders in a row went through PayPal. The middle transaction was never authorized. In the Payment screen it shows IPN pending. When we look at the IPN history, we have two side-by-side records for the orders that were successful but no IPN f...

Re: PayPal IPN versus API
Mazhar, I don't have an IPN number for the order. The first screenshot above shows the payment screen for the order and it says "Waiting for IPN". We looked in the history and that is shown in the second screenshot. There is no IPN for the order in the history. There is an entry for the order before...

Re: PayPal IPN versus API
Mazhar,
Below is a snapshot of part of the IPN history. The order at 19:03 was #638 and the order at 18:36 was #636. The order that shows IPN Pending in the order screen is #637. So there is no pending IPN to trigger.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Here's an example of what the payment screen looks like. The order was placed at 10pm last night and this is the status as of 8:30am this morning.

PayPal IPN versus API
We have a client using PayPal as one of their payment methods. They've had some problems with a few orders not showing up as authorized and some not showing up as captured. When they look at the PayPal site to check the orders, they can see an authorization or capture record. We spoke with their Pay...

Re: Allow Access to Specific Pages in Registered Users site R6
Thanks Mazhar! This site has several information pages the client also wants available to non-authenticated users. We ended up adding in the authorization/deny and location/allow entries to the web.config and now it works as they wanted. We also had to fiddle with the webpage.aspx page so it would o...

Allow Access to Specific Pages in Registered Users site R6
We're using R6 and have Access Restriction set to Registered Users Only. The forgot password email is sending users to a PasswordHelp.aspx page which redirects users back to the login page first. How can we enable some additional pages for use by non-registered users (e.g. a contact us page)? Just a...

Re: Lucene Search
Thanks! For an example, browse to this website . This is a 7.0.6 site using the FTS engine, but the FTS engine search seems to work the same way in GOLD-R6. Using the FTS engine you can search for 1/2" impact wrench and then sort by name you'll see no products with that text in their name although n...

Lucene Search
We get much better results using the Lucene search than the SQL Full Text Search but it is slower. And we're seeing significant performance issues on the search results page for displaying the Narrow By Manufacturer list if we have a significant number of products in the search results. Watching the...

Re: Windows Server 2012
The problem turned out to be that ASP.NET 4.5 had been installed before IIS was installed. So .NET wasn't enabled for IIS because of how the core server was installed.

Windows Server 2012
I'm trying to install Gold R6 on a Windows Server 2012 machine and I'm getting 500 errors. If I remove the web.config then I can view the static pages like CSS files. If I start commenting out lines in the web.config I can eventually get the CSS files to display but the site doesn't run. Should GOLD...

Re: New Database Tables and NHibernate

I did have some naming issues between the namespace and assembly name in the mapping file and nhibernate config file in my previous attempts, so that was the main problem. Still some things to figure ...

You can't mark a file as an embedded resource using the WSP version. That's not available in the properties tab. Is there another way to embed the file?

Re: New Database Tables and NHibernate
Thanks Judy and Mazhar! Using the MyGeneration templates for 7.0.7 we were able to access our new tables using the same functions as the standard tables. I'll take a look at the windsor.config Wiki. If that proves problematic we can fall back to the creating classes with our own custom NHibernate fu...
