Re: Admin user: This account has been disabled.
Glad I amused you. I learned a lot from this little experience and it will stick with me a long time. Quite a negative experience overall when I consider the entire episode that includes what happened outside of this forum. I know that it turned out to be a simple fix, but that one itty bit of knowl...

Re: Admin user: This account has been disabled.
Thanks to Logan_AbleCommerce for discussing this topic in an earlier thread. I had searched and didn't find the answer, but I kept following tid bits and found it. Maybe this post will help the next newbie that gets hit in the face with not being able to get into the admin area Here is the link.... ...

Admin user: This account has been disabled.
Ok, don't be too upset. I don't know much about AbleC and I only have a development licence. The history is that I had set up the development site and I have been working off and on for several months re-creating our standard theme from our current site. Not in a big hurry really. My plans are to ge...

Importing BV4
I have been looking over the DataPort tool and it appears to be pretty flexible as to what you can import. I have been trying to determine how much of my old store I could import and what I would NOT be able to import. I would love to import everything including products, customers and old orders, b...

Re: Data Port Has Stoped Wroking
I guess this only happens on W764. I installed on my W732 machine and there was no issue getting the program to launch as installed. On my W764 machine, I just copied the link back to my quick launch area by right clicking it in the AbleCommerce folder and dragging it back to the quick launch area. ...

Re: Data Port Has Stoped Wroking
I am glad you posted this. I had been Googling trying to find the error logs but had no luck because I was looking for asp.net error logs.... here is what I found: The logs indicated that it was a permission error. When I used Control+shift to start the program, it works fine (I didn't know about Co...

Re: Data Port Has Stoped Wroking
My .net is enabled on 64 bit W7 (version 3.5.1). I am still getting the same error when I try to start the dataport connector.

Re: Data Port Has Stoped Wroking
Well, I didn't have any luck with virtual XP mode either. Installer kept telling me I didn't have .net installed, but I do, so I was not able to install it. ***** RESOLVED THE VIRTUAL XP ISSUE********* I had .net 4 installed. Installed 3.5 and it worked fine. My Issues with W7 on 64 bit machine rema...

Re: Data Port Has Stoped Wroking
I am having the exact same issue. The second I launch dataport, I get an error message that says it has stopped working.
I am using W7 Pro with all the lastest updates on a 64 bit I7 processor.
I may see if I can install it under virtual XP and use it there.

Thank you jmestep
Ahhh.. great... I will give that a try. I would prefer it all the categories be displays all of the time.

Re: Newbie to Able.... css and stuff
When I said I figured it out, I was mostly talking about the webpage thing.... When it comes to reworking css, I have kind of developed my own thing. Since I am self taught, it may not be the best way but it works for me. I just load the source code for a page that I want to modify up in a html edit...

Re: Category Navigation
You got it dean. I have the SimpleCategoryList on all my pages but it only shows when there are sub categories. If there are only products displayed, there is a heading that says categories, and then, stupidly, it says "there are no categories here". I want the high level cats on all pages. crossin...

Re: Newbie to Able.... css and stuff
I finally figured this out. I guess this is fairly simple so other members didn't see any value in offering the answer, but for a newbie, absorbing everything can take a while. For that reason, I will try to come back and put an answer here after I am more familiar with configuring the platform. I t...

Re: Category Navigation
caren: I think what you are saying is that you want the high level categories to display on the product pages instead of the sub category. If so, I too would like to have something similar that would show the high level categories as well as the sub categories... I don't think the SimpleCategoryList...

Newbie to Able.... css and stuff
I just started using a developers license last night. Oddly, one of my major concerns was that I would have trouble changing the design to match our old store, but it seems amazingly flexible and so far I have had good results in changing the skin. I looked for a skinning guide, but didn't find one....
