chocolatecandymaker.com will be better as it is a top level domain but having the keyword in your domain name is not the most important factor for high rankings, it will only help slightly.

Hi, Next to the search field in the header, I want to add a drop down search so that the customer can select a manufacturer - this would need to be like a JavaScript jump type search so that the selection of a manufacturer would return the results. Hi,

Just so I am clear on this post. We currently process all our e-commerce transactions offline. Are you saying that if SSL is enabled etc that we will still never see the creditcard number and security code?

I think that breakdown you have been given is a little over complicated, we have been using Ablecommerce for a long time now in the UK and have not had any major problems with the system and VAT.
