Thanks. Your first post didn't assume that use of the controls. It seems like an miss-use of credit card processing controls....

Re: Authorize and Capture a P.O. ????
I do not have ANY gateways set up yet. This should definately come up as an error when i attempt to authorize and capture an order without a credit card number and without a gateway. Assuming I've got 20 credit card orders and one PO order.... If i miss the PO one and run ALL through as credit card ...

Authorize and Capture a P.O. ????
Just my second day with a real site, so I'm just getting going and clicking around - BUT.... I placed an order for the all in one printer and managed to authorize and capture an order made with a P.O. I don't have credit cards set up yet. There is no possible way this could have been successful. Can...

Re: Fun with multiple images and image zoom
It took about 7 seconds to load those 5 images, I've got Fios. Way too long. I find this kind of stuff to be a distraction when I'm shopping and I'm much happier to see the merchant's choice for an alternate image over a gimmicky close-up. Unless you're selling kittens, that is. How much is the tabb...

SEO question... URL descriptive text
For SEO consideration only, which is 'better', .....why?
Assuming you want to get high on the results page when someone searches for chocolate candy....
chocolate-candy-store.net - or - chocolatecandymaker.com
Any opinions?

Re: Creating many complicated products
It's an icon under the Category listing..... Geeeez. Give me a day or two, I'll come up with a way to hide it much better....
Thanks, that'll do nicely.
A quick note though. It should make the copy invisible to the shopper. I made the copy and it appeared immediately on the store as "Copy of....".

Creating many complicated products
I've been playing with a demo site and I'm in need of a little guidance. This is a make/break question: I have about 50 NEARLY IDENTICAL products that have 8 choices each with 3 to 10 options with swatches that will change the product's price. Templates isn't the answer. Is there a way to make a pro...

Agreed. I clicked on the images at the bottom first.calvis wrote:I like the order flow.
The only thing I would change is for the user to have the ability to click on the picture to travel back to the cross sell category instead of having to go backwards.

Very nicely done. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger for a re-do of my site in AC. This one's going in my 'examples' bookmarks.

Re: Is there a BVC5 migrator? Anyone familiar enough to help?
Yes. One important tool to use when you can't adjust girth, or tell the store NOT to adjust girth is to modify the cost to the customer, even if there's no way to get info to the shipping estimator. Note (cabinet modifier) below that the weight only goes up 7lb, but the girth of the larger shipping ...

Re: Is there a BVC5 migrator? Anyone familiar enough to help?
Just wondering... All of my products have modifiers (no choices), some per-product, mostly shared. I'll be playing with a trial store soon, but I'm told that choices aren't shared, but are cloned(?) whatever..., and then edited. On migration to AC, how do products get their choices assigned (if at a...

Thanks. Andy to the rescue - again.
Still digesting. I'm so busy right now I'm thinking of just dumping it all on someone's desk. Any reservations working with one of the 3rd parties, Web2 for instance?
Damn, I'm frustrated. I've got so much on hold... a 2nd site, maybe another next year too.

BVC5. Too much "The dog ate my homework"
Just wondering how much cleaning up I'm going to be doing assuming there is a tool/ability.
Anyone else move over? How'd it go? Third parties?

I like it already. Can I assume text can be added like this? This would REALLY keep a long line of choices from making the page way too long.

Re: User guide has nothing about how to build products
Sorry, 'build' a product = 'create'. Thank you. That's the screenshot I'm looking for. Can I assume that the manufacturer's "part number" - SKU - can be seen on the email to the manufacturer/vendor so he can use it when drop-shipping (instead of using my SKU)? Are variants editable on each product i...

Sohaib, There is nothing in the manual about products: Some pre-purchase musings.... Can components of a "KIT" have choices?
I've been waiting for this for way too long at another cart... I'd like to use kitting, but some of my parts have choices. How is this best handled? make products (components) off-catalog that pre-select the size, color, etc, or, does your cart take you to the product's page to allow the buyer to ma...

Wholesale users, possible to disallow shopping by SKU or cat
Is it possible to disallow wholesale customers from shopping by SKU or category?
Some products are not available to wholesalers at a discount. Can the SKU be used to make these products 'off limits'? SKUs prefixed with "ABC", or any products from a certain manufacturer, perhaps?

Possible to cascade choices to change cost of choices?
I know... this is a tough one, but another cart doesn't even understand the question: Product: Shirt Choice > color RED: Select size: Small adds $0.00 Large adds $10.00 Choice > color BLUE: Select size: Small adds $10.00 Large adds $20.00 Is this possible WITHOUT editing a grid layout like BVC's? Looking for example site with many choices
Tried SF6 and BV5. 'nuf said. I've got a small product line that has to make use of some intense on-screen attributes. I'll assume drop-downs and radio buttons with thumbs (swatches) are available. Can anyone show me a site with very intense use of attributes? I need (sometimes for the same product)...
