When I add a new item the vendor sort is NOT in order. When I save the new item and come back to it then the vendor sort is working.

I made the change as you instructed and the drop down search works great for exsisting product. However, when adding a new item the vendors still show jumbled. If I save the item and come back to it then they are sorted properly for selection.

That fix worked GREAT in the Admin/People/Vendor screen but I still have the sorting issue in the Admin/Catalog/Category/Item screen drop down box. Any way to fix this as well? Has anyone been able to successfully implement the attachment of a .pdf document to an item? I would like to include "sample pages" - I have tried to convert a pdf to a jpg and attach it as an additional picture but because of the size it blew up the page.

Is there a way to have Vendors sorted? I have 600+ vendors...IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER! Makes it hard to locate a vendor when adding a new item. I would think it should work the same way as the Manufacturer - but it does not.
