Re: Upgrading to jQuery 3.0.0
So between the two of you, you've saved me about ONE BILLION hours of headache and frustration. Thank you for posting your details on this mess.
I'm working through all of this now on a large account. Will update here if I run into anything not already mentioned here.

Re: GDPR
Found this on Forbes Magazine website The organization would have to target a data subject in an EU country. Generic marketing doesn’t count. For example, a Dutch user who Googles and finds an English-language webpage written for U.S. consumers or B2B customers would not be covered under the GDPR. H...

GDPR
So you've probably gotten just as many GDPR emails as I have this week.
Is there any official response/reaction from AbleCommerce regarding GDPR? Does it even apply to a US-based business that only ships to domestic US addresses??

Re: 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated error using Exchange mail
Ok, some more information that might prove useful to folks. And for my own sake when I forget and need to find this again :) The SSL issue was only part of the problem. That was resolved, but then we couldn't overcome a more challenging error: Error 5.7.60 Client does not have permissions to send as...

5.7.1 Client was not authenticated error using Exchange mail
A client recently (this morning) started seeing this error on every email the Able store tries to send. For years they've been using a hosted Exchange Server solution for their email hosting. As of this morning, all emails from the server result in the 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated error. I've ...

Re: Template for specific product
Jay's idea is how I do it. I implement a few if-endif nVelocity scripts in the email template. That way I'm still working with just one email template which makes things easier to keep track of later in life.

I assume you're referring to product export/import?
If so, I just tested it in Gold R12 SR2. Title is correctly exported (3rd column in the CSV file) and properly processed when imported.

Re: LeftSideBarResponsive layout
You can make a copy of any layout file and modify that copy in any way. The responsive layout is not treated differently from any other layout file in the system.
Are you getting some sort of error? You haven't mentioned what leads you to believe the responsive layout cannot be copied.

Re: PayPal return url
I'm not following you. Auto cancel the order?
By the time the receipt page loads, there's no way for Able to know if the payment actually went through. Sometimes PayPal will take hours to notify Able via IPN that the payment was success or failure.

Re: PayPal return url
I understand it may be harder to implement than it is for CC but it would be great if failed paypal payments did not create orders. Unfortunately I do not think that is possible. PayPal requires the Order Number to be known before the shopper is sent to PayPal. And the only way to generate a valid ...

Re: PayPal return url
I recall digging into it before and I believe that was the conclusion. I agree it needs re-worked into something more compatible with the usual checkout flow. A challenge I'm sure, PayPal is very awkward in how it has to be implemented. Back in the early days of 7.x, a shopper that chose PayPal as t...

Re: PayPal return url
It's that automatic redirect that was implemented back in Able 7.x, isn't it? People complained that shoppers had to click another button when a paypal order reached the receipt page. So you guys implemented an automatic-click on the paypal button when the receipt page loads. And now that prevents (...

PayPal return url
I notice in the IPNProcessor.cs routine of the PayPal gateway, the return URL is coded as the member MyOrder page: //ORDER LOAD SUCCESSFUL, UPDATE DEFAULT REDIRECT URL redirectUrl = "~/Members/MyOrder.aspx?OrderNumber=" + order.OrderNumber.ToString(); My question: Why aren't they sent to the /Member...

Re: Service Release 2 is available for Gold version R12
I see this note at the top of SR2: Applies To: These instructions apply to installations running AbleCommerce Gold R12 SR1, build 9266 only. So just to confirm, that means the SR2 patch does not contain the fixes from SR1 and thus SR1 must first be installed before installing SR2? Or can people go s...

Never define a tinyint table field as an INT class property
FYI for those interested... If you define a SQL table field as 'tinyint', do NOT define the class property as an 'int' data type. Many, many bad things happen in Able whenever nHibernate tries to flush the session. The table property was tinyint The hbm file defined it as byte but the class file def...

Agreed. Perhaps future versions would permit that requisite RegEx string to be configurable without recompiling the CommerceBuilder DLL.

Re: Support for newer TLD in cb:EmailAddressValidator
Ok it does work in SR1. Apparently I'm having an SR moment and can't tell the different between the numbers 9168 and 9266.
Yes it is confirmed working in R12 SR1.
Is there no workaround for earlier versions?

Support for newer TLD in cb:EmailAddressValidator
The email address validator control (EmailAddressValidator) doesn't accept newer top-level domains like .consulting. So users with joe @ mycompany.consulting can't use the register page in Able Gold. Also tested in Able 7.x, same issue. Any thoughts on a workaround, besides just removing the validat...

Re: Variant Sku Search
I think Judy's got the key point, solution must work with FTS. The majority (if not all) of my client base uses FTS. Nobody uses Lucene so far as I know. I don't know of any other issues involving variants. Overall it works really well aside from the search issue. There are still going to be one-off...

Re: Variant Sku Search
Technically, the records should be written to the table as soon as they're generated. The variant table is active and in use at that point. So regardless of the admin clicking anything, that data should now be in a persistent storage. I don't know exactly when it changed. I remember asking you about...
