This is actually a feature enhancement that didn't make it into 7.0. Where you can name each row of the method. The work around is to create another shipping method called 'Free Shipping' and give it the over 100 dollar criteria.

This would require customization. As soon as AbleCommerce 7.0 is finalized we'll be working on many optionally available add-on products such as this. We have not make any descions on what is priority, so assume it won't be available for now. But you never know.

Yes kitting is what you'd want to use for this. If they are not available as product separately, then you'd simply mark the products as 'locked'.

You can set the rate on each shipping method. It can be restricted by user group and shipping zone. So if I understand your question correctly then the answer is yes.

The developer guide is written by our developers. It won't be available until after final, as they are busy getting us to final release. If you should have any questions that we might help you with please post them to the forums, as it will help guide us in the creation of the guide.

This feature didn't make the 7.0 cut, but it does have a priority level of 1 for the 7.1 release.

The only solution that we've come up with the ever changing PITA of NY Taxes is Certitax (untested but written). Cybersource is another however isn't not yet written into AC7, but if needed we'll get it in there. The report is possible with some customization of the taxes report.
