www.fitzz.com almost done

Post by dextel » Tue Aug 09, 2005 2:58 pm

Hello,
I am looking forward to looking at some critical comments about the site http://www.fitzz.com that we are building. There also seems to be a problem with the serch option as it returns multiple instances of the same item.

Thanks,

Jerry.

I also wanted to thank Redcell for helping me with the free shipping over 99.00 option.

You have multiple products showing up in the search because you have multiple copies of each product on your site.

I searched for polar FS1 and came up with 10 results; five yellow and five blue. They all seem to be the same product in your store, but on the web site each one has a different Product ID.

My guess is that instead of moving products to multiple categories you made copies of the products (although all the search results seem to be in the top level category).

Here's the links to all the yellow products:

http://www.fitzz.com/Polar-FS1-Heart-Ra ... 485C0.aspx
http://www.fitzz.com/Polar-FS1-Heart-Ra ... 658C0.aspx
http://www.fitzz.com/Polar-FS1-Heart-Ra ... 810C0.aspx
http://www.fitzz.com/Polar-FS1-Heart-Ra ... 955C0.aspx

Notice that the Product IDs are different (the P333, P485, etc. parts of the URL). This means that in AbleCommerce these are all separate products.

You'll have to clean up your data. Other than that the site is looking pretty nice.
