I read in another post someone mentioning a "Beta 3".
Is that the same as RC1 or is it another new update coming soon?

There is no beta 3. (?) We have RC1 out now. We have made a limited number of updates to correct some issues in RC1, all of them were minor. So now we are just helping out with RC1 installs, testing, and waiting to see if anything else crops up. Barring any unforseen issue, there will be a "final" 7.0 at the end of the month.
