probably a dum question

Post by freedom1029 » Fri Nov 30, 2007 3:31 pm

This is probably a dum question but here it is anyway.

Can someone tell me how to change the email address mentionned in the from field of the confirmation order email sent to the customer?
Thanks

In the Admin screen, under the Configure tab go to E-mail and then you can either choose Settings or Templates.

If you choose Settings, you can set the default from address in the first field on the page.

If you choose Templates instead, you can change the from address for each specific template, if you want to do it that way instead (for example, if you want to use a specific e-mail to reply to your order confirmation e-mails and another e-mail for lost password e-mails, etc.). Anyway, there you can click on the the notepad edit icon and make the change.

Hope this helps!

Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike.

Hum this is weird because I already set the default from address in the settings section and still the confirmation email sent is not using the email addreess I specified.

The field in the "Settings" applies only to new email templates.

The existing ones supplied by the system do not get modified by setting the value in the Email Settings screen. You must edit each template once to set the proper reply address.

If it's supposed to alter the existing templates, it didn't do it for me.
