Forum Search function

Post by bobr2k » Sun Feb 03, 2008 1:42 pm

Am I missing something (I hope) ... when I try to "phrase" a search I get millions of responses (ok thousands;-)) ... for example, I'm trying to find topics about "component art" and that's the way I enter it into the search. Doesn't seem to work. What am I missing?

No, you're running into the same problem we all have. I have a very hard time finding anything unless I can remember who posted it.

There is a mod for PHPBB that rebuilds the search function to make it work better. Maybe Able can look into that.

I vote to stop the pain and move to Vbulletin.

I have a Vbulletin site with: Threads: 95,867, Posts: 1,410,800, Members: 15,770 and never had a query about the Vbulletin search function not working properly.

I run several vBulletin sites, they do NOT have the back issue. It is far superior to this crapt of a forum and what we have here is NOT conducive to a happy, productive, helping community.

However, if you click back on this trash of a forum'ware, just click REFRESH and it will requery.

I have been on top of AbleStaff for months to move this heap to vBulletin. I think the customers and users of this forum have spoken. I even volunteered to pay for it!
