I have a question. We are attempting to accept checks. They are showing up fine on the store side, but not on the Admin side.
Is this by design? (If so, I will have to add that functionality to the admin side).
Is this a bug?
Or, potentially, am I missing some setting in the store configuration somewhere to get that to show in admin?

Hi,
I'm assuming you are wanting electronic checks...this requires a payment gateway that supports echecks. Currently, Ablecommerce has built-in support for echecks through Authorize.net and Paypal. You need to use one of these two gateways when you setup echeck from the administration side.
I believe you will also need to change the gateway mode to "Capture" since there isn't a way to "Authorize" a check payment.

Let me try setting it to 'Authorize AND Capture'.
I did it for Authrize.Net, and it's workin fine on the front end (well, it's at least SHOWING the check option, although we have not tried actually processing any yet).
However, on the admin side, the check payment type option doesn't even show up, at all. The radio button selection for either CC payment, paypal, or Check doesn't show up on the Admin side.
It does, as I said, show up on the regular customer side, though, in the checkout process for the store. Just not in the checkout process for admin.
EDIT: I just set it to auth and capture no difference.

Ok, I see what you mean now. From the Place Order page in admin, there is only an option to pay by credit/debit card or defer payment. I don't know why all payment options are not available from this page?? As a work-around, you can use the DEFER PAYMENT button. Then, from the Order/Payments page, add an echeck payment from there. It's really only a couple of extra clicks...

Thanks though, I know we have some clients on the GOLD release, and this was recently brought to my attention. So, I loaded up the latest version (final release) and it's still happening.
It must be a bug then.
