Disabling Countries

Is there a way to disable countries as apposed to deleting them? We need to shut down international shipments for a couple of months, but will be reinstating them at a later date. I would hate to have to delete them all out, only to have to enter them all back in in a couple of months.

I think you can do this by defining zones in the admin.
