AC7 Data Port Setup

I am brand new to your system. I need to know what to place in each box; Store Name, Store URL, Administrator Name, Password. Where do I find each piece of data? I'm in the trial period.

Be sure to see the readme.txt file... Backup your database!

Storename: Set to what ever you like, doesn't matter
Administrator name: set to the admin username established during installation of AbleCommerce.
Password: Set to the correct password for the above.
StoreURL: http://WWW.MYSTORE.COM/ClientApi/ClientApiService.ashx (change 'www.mystore.com' to your domain or ip address).

I know i'm being a bonehead but i still can't get the connection.
This is the information that came in the "Demo Store Login" email.
How do I get connected?

I don't think it will work with the demo store, it might but when you login the first time you're required to change the password from 'password' to something else. So possibly that is problem.

Hello,

When you first log into the demo store it forces you to change the password, from 'password' to something else. Might be best just to signup for a new demo store, a valid email isn't required, just remember what you use.

I created a new store and received an email with all the data (url, username, password). I changed the password. Placed the data into the dataport.

"Invalid response from server" is the popup.

Please download and use the latest version of DataPort. You can download the latest version of DataPort from here:

To successfully connect DataPort to your store the user account must be a "super user" account.

Hello,

The .31 version of the dataport will certainly not work with the demo store as it now version checks the files on the server to see if they are correct. The demo store will not work with the data client as it now sits. I'll see if we can get the corrected .dll file into the demo stores.

You can use the following Service URL to connect to your store. You will get a warning when connected to your store as mike described above that the dll is not yet updated so there could be problems.

The demo stores have been updated to support the dataclient .31. You will need to create a new store for this change to take affect. Please let us know if you should have any other questions, hopefully you'll be able to try it out now.
