Uploading document

Post by maucoin » Mon Oct 27, 2008 1:36 pm

Is there a place to upload a document within the storefront? I need to link a document to a page within the storefront.

It is a word .doc file

If you can't upload a .doc file in the admin (try in the upload image or digital goods section), then you can upload it via ftp and put the link in for it.

When i try to access through FTP i am getting the following error. I know this is not a password problem because i have tried with 2 different account with the correct password several times.

Response: 530 Login incorrect.

Do you get the error when you try to connect, or when you try to upload it? If it is when you try to upload, maybe the hoster has a filter allowing only certain types of files.
I was just able to add a .doc file thru the Manage-->Images and Assets. I created a new folder on the left called word Docs and then uploaded the doc in the box on the right to that folder. The url came out like ProductImages\WordDocs \document.doc

I tried exactly what you said below and i got the relative link however it shows that the page cannot be displayed. It does not try to open it as a word doc

Did you see if you could save the doc if you downloaded it, then open it in word? I have problems sometimes with pdf docs not hooking up OK with the browser, but I can open them after I save them.

I got it to work by changing the relative link up. Thank you for your help.
