HTTP 400 Error in Admin Panel--Any ideas??

Post by alee337 » Fri Oct 31, 2008 11:12 pm

For the last two days, we've been getting these error codes when editing or inputting new products in the admin panel.

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 400

I tried asking my hosting company about this, but they are not sure what is wrong. Anyone know what is triggering these errors, and what I can do to eliminate them??

Thanks,
Alan

Does anybody know why this is happening?? I can't get anything done with these errors popping up everywhere. I can't even save the time settings in the admin panel right now.

What is going on here?

400 means the browser sent some data that was so odd, the server did not know what to do with it. Have you tried a different browser (such as FireFox if you normally use IE or IE if you normally use FireFox) on the same computer, or a different computer?

Yes, I've tried switching browsers, shutting down and restarting, and clearing all private data. This error does not appear to be specific to IE or Mozilla. Again, this is something that has only happened recently (last 3-4 days). The only change made to site within this time is an internal scrollbar on the left sidebar. This wouldn't have anything to do with these error messages would it?

Yes it could. Try removing the change and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't try disabling any firewalls and anti-phishing/anti-virus software you may have installed. Also setup a separate demo store on the same server and see if you get the same behavior when accessing it.

Do all of these things separately, or you will not know which one fixed it.
