Creating many complicated products

Post by William M » Wed Mar 04, 2009 11:19 am

I've been playing with a demo site and I'm in need of a little guidance. This is a make/break question:

I have about 50 NEARLY IDENTICAL products that have 8 choices each with 3 to 10 options with swatches that will change the product's price. Templates isn't the answer.

Is there a way to make a product and use it as a template for the next 49 similar products? Building the options lists in 'Options and Variants' for each product will take way too long. Is there a 'save this product as...' option that I haven't found yet? "Save as..." is a wonderful thing when working in Word, right? Anything similar in AC?

Perhaps 'cloning' or similar?
Perhaps a complicated, time consuming 'options' can be saved for use on many products?

Thanks.

It's an icon under the Category listing..... Geeeez. Give me a day or two, I'll come up with a way to hide it much better....

Thanks, that'll do nicely.

A quick note though. It should make the copy invisible to the shopper. I made the copy and it appeared immediately on the store as "Copy of....".

Keep the master product visibility hidden and then create its duplicates.
