Including kit contents in order email

Post by WylieE » Mon Apr 13, 2009 2:33 pm

I'm probably overlooking something simple here.

We would like to include the contents of a kit in the order confirmation email. Right now, only the product name is appearing. Is this a simple addition to the email or have I missed something in the kit configuration?

Thanks,

This may not be exactly what you want, but Jim at Web2Market got this working for me:

What other information you want to include in order confirmation. You can update following part of Order Confirmation Email to include other desired information

Code: Select all

#if (($orderItem.OrderItemType == "Product") || ($orderItem.OrderItemType == "Discount") || ($orderItem.OrderItemType == "Coupon") || ($orderItem.OrderItemType == "GiftWrap") )
<tr class="Email">
<td class="Email" style="text-align: center;">
#if (($orderItem.OrderItemType == "Product"))
$orderItem.Sku
#elseif (($orderItem.OrderItemType == "Discount"))
DISCOUNT
#elseif (($orderItem.OrderItemType == "Coupon"))
COUPON
#elseif (($orderItem.OrderItemType == "GiftWrap"))
GIFTWRAP
#end
</td>
<td class="Email">
$orderItem.Name
#if ($orderItem.VariantName.Length > 0)
($orderItem.VariantName)
#end
#foreach($orderItemInput in $orderItem.Inputs)
#if (!$orderItemInput.IsMerchantField)
<br /><b>$orderItemInput.Name:</b> $orderItemInput.InputValue
#end
#end
#if ($orderItem.WrapStyle)
<br>
Gift Wrap: $orderItem.WrapStyle.Name
#end
#if ($orderItem.GiftMessage.Length > 0)
<br>
Gift Message: $orderItem.GiftMessage
#end
</td>
<td class="Email" style="text-align: center;">$orderItem.Quantity</td>
<td class="Email" style="text-align: right;">$orderItem.ExtendedPrice.ToString("ulc")</td>
</tr>
#end
#end

Sorry to take so long to respond. What we would like to see is something like:

1 Gecko 6 Chrome Hardware Kit
1 - TG6C Bridge
6 - NW Washers
3 - S1 Screws
etc....

When the customer orders a kit, all the individual items should appear on the confirmation email.

Order Confirmation Email already includes child items info. Am I missing something?

We must be missing something. I expected to see something like your image both in the confirmation email and order details, but I get the summary only. During checkout, I do see all the individual kit components.

I don't recall editing the email itself, which leads me to question if I've set the kit up properly. I've tried both Included-Hidden, and Included-Shown on the components and shown or not shown on the components. Are there any other toggles for component display?
