error in administration

Post by Chris Hadden » Fri Jun 19, 2009 8:59 am

Hello, just purchased ablecommerce. The following error popped up while working with the catalog. It seemed to fix itself within a few moments. Does anyone know what this means?

An error has occured at http://www.cameojewelrysupply.com/Admin ... rowse.aspx Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If you find this to be a problem, it might be worthwhile to set the machinekey as described in the error message. There are forum posts floating around that explain how to get it set into your web.config file.

It seems that the error is created because the page I am trying to work on has not fully loaded. Right now I have a catagory with 3000 products in it. I actually wasn't aware the the thing was still loading while I was asking it to do something. I think that might be the issue

Interesting. Can you tell me what you clicked when the page was still loading? I will try to replicate the problem.

Well if I go to catalog browse. The first category will start to load. There are about 3000 items. The page you see fills with products instantly, but meanwhile further down the screen it is loading all the products. If you click on any product to open it while the loading is going on you will get the error.
