Terms and Conditions

Post by BekE » Tue Jul 07, 2009 10:05 am

Has anyone else run into needing a really loooong spot of text for the Terms and Conditions?

The problem we're running into, is that if you put more text in the Terms and Conditions (under Configure, Store - for the payment/check out page) than will visibly display in the popup, it won't allow you to scroll up and down to view the entire text, or the add/decline buttons. (When you actually click "view terms and conditions" on the checkout page, from the customer's perspective.)

Is there a fix for this?

One workaround might be to make the popup window wider, not sure if that will allow for all of it or not but it's worth a try - does anyone know where that is hiding (setting the width of the modal popup for the terms and conditions)?

Thanks!

I have tested it on 7.0.3 and its working great. What is your application version? Also what is the browser you are using for testing?

Hi,

This is 7.0.3 and I tried in both FireFox 3.0 and IE 7.0.

It only seems to do it once the text reaches a point where you would have to scroll up and down to view everything. Then it just sort of bounces around/flashes a lot when you try to scroll up and down, and you're pretty much stuck in that window and have to close the browser to get out at that point, since you can't get to the accept/decline buttons.

I haven't checked with the other person testing, but they are able to reproduce on their computer as well.

On a larger resolution, the text below reproduces it over this way, but you may need to add more depending on your screen resolution, so it can't display the entire thing without scrolling.

Thanks!

I have tried the text you posted but still every thing is fine. I have update online demo of 7.0.3 with your posted terms and conditions text, please try to reproduce it here

Hi,

Your demo version works great (although as a heads up I ran into an "oops!" error when I tried to add the all-in-one-printer in my basket - it said it logged it).

I think the difference is that when your popup displays, it has its own vertical scrollbar on the right-hand side of the dialog window. I can also see the top and bottom of your dialog window.

When it displays here, the only vertical scrollbar is the one on the side of the browser itself. You can't see the top/bottom of the dialog window here either, it starts beyond the browser's visible display area. (Width-wise you can see the left and right sides of the dialog window.)

Is there a spot where I can go in and adjust the height of that window? It looks like the copy here for whatever reason must be too high height-wise.

(I attached two screenshots in case that's of help.)

Thanks!
