Terms and Conditions

Post by zenonpham » Fri Apr 17, 2009 2:52 pm

Hello all you wonderful AbleCommerce people,

I have a situation that we figured out before but can't seem remember what was the solution. At the Checkout page (using Internet Explorer), the credit card payment fields don't display until the customer has actually viewed the Terms and Conditions.

I'd like for the customer to be required to check the T/C box but not have to actually view them (unless they want to). Currently, the credit-card payment fields are not visible until customer has clicked "view the Terms and Conditions".

The current setup is confusing to the customers because they don't see any logical way to continue the purchase.

Thanks Much!

I am unable to reproduce above issue on 7.0.2 install. Did you made any customization? What is your application version?

We had this problem on an older version (version 7.0, build 8839) but were able to fix the problem. However, I'm unable to recall or find what was the solution. Our current version is 7.0.0, build 11659.

Also, the problem does not occur when using the FireFox browser.

Have you been able to find a solution yet?

Thanks.

Can you upgrade to 7.0.3 build?

Not without a lot of effort. The site has been customized quite a bit which makes upgrades more than just replacing the files. I'm pretty confident that the customization is not causing the problem since the problem existed before the customization.

Ok, here's the solution:

If you include HTML tags in the Terms and Conditions, make sure that it is well formed. In our case, there was an opening <font> tag, but no closing </font> tag.
