We are having a hard time figuring out a good solution.
Our company sells a particular products that it warehouses. We will be expanding the product line but for now it is 3 products
Also, we have relationships setup with many manufacturers where we are drop shipping through. We are selling their products on our website. We have 3 different companies we drop ship through and over 500 products through each company. In the short term, we will be adding more manufactures and their products to our site.
Our problem is with calculating shipping. Below is an example:
1. Our Warehouse - Flat rate shipping price per unit.
2. Manufacturer #1 - Free Shipping in US, Shipping Rate in Canada
3. Manufacturer #2 - Shipping rate calculated through their shipment provider.
Right now, upon checkout, it shows the customer 3 separate shipping options and this is very confusion. We want to consolidate the shipping prices all into one option.
We would ideally like to offer a ground and express shipping option as well.
At this point, the only solution I can think of is to setup a drop down that notifies the customer that shipping rates are manually calculated after the order is placed, and they will be contacted with the total ship rate prior to processing their credit card. This is an option but I am worries people might be discouraged because they don't see a shipping price at the time of order. Has anyone experienced a large bounce rate by not placing a dollar amount at the time of shipping?
Is there possibility for being able to deliver pricing at the time of checkout all in one shipping method?
