Can components of a "KIT" have choices?

Post by William M » Sat Feb 14, 2009 10:37 am

I've been waiting for this for way too long at another cart...

I'd like to use kitting, but some of my parts have choices. How is this best handled? make products (components) off-catalog that pre-select the size, color, etc,

or, does your cart take you to the product's page to allow the buyer to make choices? Seems to me that's the best way.

Either way, I'm not waiting any longer.

The cart takes the customer to the product page. You can set up kits including items that have options with them.

Able have 2 options, They have "Kits/Bundles" and they have "Options and Variants"

Kits and Bundles lets you have parts that customers done see for inventory reasons, It also lets you use other products and the customer select them. Like "add shoes"

Options and Variants dose not use your other products. But it works well for like shirts. you have Red Blue and Green and Small medium and large. But you do not have Red small. Options and Variants lets you do that. It also keeps tracks of inventory for Red large and red medium separately.

So it depends on your product what way it best. If its multiple products being combined kits is normally best. Its is a bunch of vary similar items Variants works well.

I am trying to add a product to a Kit that has 10 choices. When i add the product to the cart, it doesn't take me to the product page to select my choices.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
