I am configuring AbleCommerce on my local machine before going live, and I can not get the Email Server Configuration to work. Each time it says:
Server configuration was updated but the test resulted in error: Failure sending mail.
I've tried SMTP with and without SSL, with and without authentication, different ports, different email accounts... several configuration that I KNOW work.
When trying SSL the error log says:
Failure sending mail.; Unable to read data from the transport connection: net_io_connectionclosed.
When trying without SLL the error log says:
Failure sending mail.; Unable to connect to the remote server
I'm relatively new to IIS7. Is there something I need to configure there? The development machine I am on is Windows 7. I've looked at the Firewall settings, but it doesn't make sense that port 25 would blocked.
Please help!

That is why: you have to have the application on the actual server for the email to work.I am configuring AbleCommerce on my local machine before going live, . .
It's not going to work on the local machine.
