Customizing Kits

Is there a way to modify how kits and bundles work, so that their is an option to say, buy two of the primary product while only buying one of the kit item. Or vice versa? Or somethign else that works that way in the store? I have several products that have items that you usaully want or need with it, Like say pins for a connector housing, but you only need say, 1 bag of a hundred pins for 10 housings. Finding the easiest way to display that info to the customer and let them order it as efficently as possible is my goal.

Yes off course if you have development skills then you can do it as ablecommerce allow you to write your own functionality using CommerceBuilder api etc.
