Accessing Another data table (Best Practice)

Hi Guys

We need to access another table (Non AC table) (in the same AC or another Database) via AC DAL, I could not locate any
documentation for custom queries (and by that I mean querying a non AC table. Could you guys tell me what would
the best practice be and refer me to some online documentation.
