Send to Friend Exchange Bug

Post by igavemybest » Thu Sep 09, 2010 4:19 pm

AC7 Error **Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender

For alot of reasons, sending as someone else just isnt going to work. Has anyone done anything with this to just use the senders email address, and have a template sent to both the sender and the "friend" from our email address, instead of email address "spoofing"?

Any help appreciated!

I would guess that it is an issue with your mail server instead of Able.

Not really, the issue is that able is sending the email as another user. There are a lot of reasons you wouldnt want to do that, depending on the volume of emails that get sent out. A "bug" wouldnt be the correct word I guess, but able is set up to use a standard SMTP mail service, not Exchange Server. There should be an option for the "Send to Friend" to send the email from an email address you specify just like all the other templates instead of the email address the user inputs.
