How to edit 'Page Views Over Time' panel

Post by KiwiSteve » Sun Oct 30, 2011 10:35 pm

Hi

I have previously managed to edit the Page Views Over Time settings to show longer time periods, eg 30 days vs default of 2, or similar. But now I forget!

Recently noticed my 'by Month' tab has been losing data from the earliest histogram column. It seems it is only displaying data from the previous n months, somehow counting by days, so that the earliest column actually decreases over time.

Can someone please advise me where I can change these settings so I can view 12 months of data?

I have tried Manage>Dashboard>Customize, but this only allows minor layout and content changes.

As always, I appreciate your help

I believe that is found under Configure >> Page Tracking. I think you're looking for the History Length option.

Keep in mind this will significantly bloat your ac_PageViews table depending on the volume of traffic you get. Currently I get about 150,000 page view records every week on my Solunar.com site. My site performance has a noticeable boost every time I use the admin to clear the page views. So the table size does have a direct impact on site performance.

Your mileage may vary, but it's worth noting nonetheless.
