Referral Marketing

Has anyone tried referral marketing programs such as Referral Candy http://www.referralcandy.com or Curebit http://www.curebit.com ?

I am wondering if this has worked well for anyone. I like the ability to share on social media such as Facebook and thus increase "word of mouth".

They also have the ability to hold contests.

Any input would be appreciated,
