How to provide option to either ship or download a product?

Is there a way to set up a product, so the user can select whether they want to download it or have it shipped to them?
How to Customize this Preferrably on the Checkout page?

Here is a little more information:

We have items that are available for both download or shipment. We don't want to load two of the same items, one which can be downloaded, and one which would be shipped. We'd like to have one version of the item, and then the user would select either the option to download, or the option to ship - maybe via a radio button?

Then the user would checkout, and either the item would be made available for download, or the request would go to the shipping department for processing.

You can set up product options so that one is physical and one is digital and attach the digital file to the digital option. Then on the variants page for that, modify the weight so that the weight is 0 for the digital item. Then you can set a custom shipping method called Download with a weight of 0 defined and it would show for products that have a zero weight.
