Hi All,

I have some products which have accessories. I want to give a % discount when an accessory is added to the product. How can accomplish this. Do I need to do any customization?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Carol

Thanks,

You could bundle your products with accessories in a kit. AC lets you change the prices on the kit components.

Kit as stated or...

Set the product's cost at $0.00 and place the prices entirely in the choices.

Choice #1: Product alone
Choice #2: Product plus stuff

One caveat on not setting a product price- if you submit a Google feed, those links will be rejected because of no price unless it is customized to pick up a price from some selections.

Judi,

I don't Google feed but on another ecommerce's forum, someone suggested hiding products specifically for Google feed.

An "A" set for retail and a "B" set of products for the Goog. Esp for choice-heavy products. Don'tknow the particulars....

Thank you all for replying. But with the solution you have given, we have to create kit products. So when ever new product is added we have to refer to kit product for upselling etc. There are lot of products that come in and it's not ok to build kit products. Because product A is available for 100 where as in kit it is available for 80$. But if the user selects only product A in the kit product he is getting it for 80$ where as elsewhere on the site the same product is price 100$.

How can we do customization to volumediscount so that we can apply discount if someone buys a related product. I understand right now volume discount is per line item, we want to give volume discount if some one buys more that two products of different category.

Can any one suggest how much is it going to take to do customization to do volume discount.

Thanks again!
Carol

This is also something we need. It really seems like it's kind of a hybrid of the kit functionality and the accessory functionality. We are looking at writing this custom right now but would love an existing solution.

After further discussion, our plan is to extend the Accessory functionality to allow Admins to define a discount for the Accessory when it is associated with the product. Then, we'll probably add some business rules to the existing volume discount functionality to support this in the cart/backend.

The kit functionality is fine for building out a computer but not at all the right solution for our clients' needs (personalized baby products).
