Before I purchase an SSL certificate..
Do I purchase a certificate for the fully qualified domain "www.mystore.com" as the certificate must cover the checkout and admin areas, or can I buy a certificate for just the sub-domain for the checkout (e.g. "secure.mystore.com")??

Re: Installing SSL
I believe there is a way you can purchase a ssl that covers all subdomains of a url.
You would register "*.domain.com".
I will ask our hosting guy just to make sure.

Re: Installing SSL
I was told that "*.domain.com" is called a wildcard ssl license and it is more expensive. A regular ssl you would want to be formatted to the same domain you are registering ablecommerce to. Most likely "www.domain.com".

Re: Installing SSL
The Default way to do it is get http://mysite.com or http://www.mysite.com as your SSL
so that the only difference between the secure and non secure is http or https
I saw someone customize there site to use the https://secure.mysite.com But i dont see a reason to have secure in the url.
