In template triggers... what's the difference?

I know what "Order Shipped" is, it's in the user guide and it's intuitive:
"The Order Shipped email is automatically sent to the customer when the order ships, or when the remaining part of the order has shipped. You may want to include some information about your return policies here."
"Shipment Shipped" is not in the user guide.
What triggers - "Shipment Shipped" if not shipping the order? Is it a useful tool?
