Missing Tax Settings Links

I need to set tax settings for my state. im lookin at the Manual Guide under Taxes, and its telling me to look a Configure>Taxes however inside the configure tax link i do not see "Settings" and "Zones" links. I only see "Tax Rules" and "Tax Codes". How do i get those Settings and Zones links back there to properly setup my state tax rate that i need to collect. Im using version 7.0 i created a tax rule for my state but the cart is not showing tax figures. I think i need those missing links to enable tax?

I thought I asked about this once (for 7.0.2) but I can't find the post. Countries and Zones are under Configure > Regions. Once you create zones (based on countries, states or zips) you should be able to use them in your tax rules / codes. HTH.

I dont see Configure>REgions, but the main issue i have is that When you go CONFIGURE>TAXES there are suppose to be four links (Settings, Codes, Zones, and Rules). I only have Tax Codes and Rules. I dont see any Settings or or Zones.

And i did create a Tax rule for taxing in my state but when i checkout to do a test, tax amount doesnt show up. I am thinking because my store is not setup to enable tax. Based on the User Guide you set that up inside the Settings link that i dont see inside CONFIGURE>TAXES

I don't know what the differences are between 7.0 and 7.0.2 so I can't be exact. However, you could try searching the menu.sitemap file in the Admin directory for Settings. That would tell you where that menu option is located. Looking at my file, I see that it has roles="System,Admin,Jr. Admin". Are you logged in as one of those roles? If not, that could be the problem. I've got to go but someone will probably give you the exact answer in the morning. good luck.

Please explain how do you want to setup your taxes, because tax setup was enhanced in 7.0.2 Plus and help site is updated for that. May be its something that we can configure without using tax settings option.

i figured it out. i have to change the product weight from 0 to at least 1. then the tax rule activated.
