Answers to email inquiries bounce back

I'm using the ootb form for questions coming from the site. The email is in my inbox (Outlook), I open it, type a reply, and hit send. It immediately comes back to the in box with:



Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: RE: Question from Gail Alxxxx visiting at Medicine Cabinet Maker
Sent: 8/12/2009 8:30 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

'sdagpxxxx@yahoo.com' on 8/12/2009 8:30 AM
557 M3 - Relay to sdagpxxxx@yahoo.com is unauthorized. Disconnecting!



The address doesn't work if Outlooks puts in into the "To:" line. The SAME email address works if manually cut/pasted into the address spot.

I've tested with 2 of my own addresses. Same problem.

Any ideas? Does Able alter the email address in a way I can't see on the screen?

What's the "from" address show when you hit the reply button on the website inquiry email? If it's showing your store address and not your address used in your Outlook, that's probably the problem.

Often ISPs will not allow a from address that isn't hosted on their mail system. Usually the way around this is to enable SMTP authentication in your email settings inside your Outlook Tools->Accounts setup. However every ISP is different so that may not work for you.
