I'm also interested in buying a module to interface with Facebook. I'm looking for something similar to the interface at http://www.jansport.com/js_product_deta ... 2&pid=TDN9
Can this be done with able?

Yes this is possible, We made a plug-in that makes use of facebook connect here at plugables which isn't released yet basically needs some testing stuff.

I'm curious what you see as the advantage(s) to the shopper would be for offering facebook connectivity on the product page?

I believe that as web evolves the social media will replace the reviews on the site.
Rather than having someone say that jacket runs long it would be great if a shoppers friend to say you look good in green, you should get the green.
People and groups are having conversations about the products you carry why not tap into them.
Facebook is not going away either

Would ablemods be interested in developing an RPX mod? It is like facebook connect only it utilizes other logins like windows live, google, openid, etc.

Go to rpxnow.com. Let me know a price if possible. And Joe, I will be picking up that QuickBooks mod soon.

Thanks,

Jason

Interesting - a generalized API interface to multiple social networking sites. Not exactly a brand new concept but the whole idea of user-mapping seems unique.

You would think someone (or them in fact) would have already written an ASP.Net user control to operate the API. Since AC7 has the ability to store custom fields with the users table, you could easily adapt this to a tight integration with your webstore.

A lot of their samples are in PHP so I don't believe it is specific to .NET. Although they did have a C# class, you still have to code the integration into your page. I guess I just need to dig deeper. Mazhar posted a link on creating a custom provider here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=13512 , but that is going to take some time for me. If you want to see what it does, send me a PM and i will respond with my dev url.
