I am getting a strange error while trying to checkout after setting up paypal as a payment gateway.

What we want is to offer customers an option to use paypal as their checkout for non credit card transactions. (Use Paypal account funds). We are using a different payment gateway for credit cards.

I configured the paypal option with the correct API information, and when I go to checkout, it shows me the paypal option for check out, and then the paypal button shows. Once you click the paypal button, it takes you to the receipt page where you are required to scroll down and click another paypal button. At that point, it appears the process times out and I get the following error:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@paypal.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

This is how we want the process to occur:

1 page checkout > Click Pay by Paypal > User forwarded to Paypal website and can log in > Confirm payment > Send back to our website to the Order Confirmation/Receipt page.

Right now it is sending straight to the receipt.. and it doesn't make sense to have the paypal button there.

I am not offering help but asking for it. I am getting the same "Internal Server Error" using PayPal on a site that's been up without known problems for a while. I have no clue if it's A/C application, Paypal or some other issue. Did you get this resolved? Thank you, much, for your answer.
