I am getting the error below when trying to install able commerce in a subfolder of the main site(sitefinity cms).

Module IIS Web Core
Notification BeginRequest
Handler Not yet determined
Error Code 0x800700b7
Config Error There is a duplicate 'system.web.extensions/scripting/scriptResourceHandler' section defined
Config File \\?\E:\web\jailclothin\htdocs\shop\web.config

There are hundreds of Google hits about this but nobody seem to know how to fix this problem. The'll tell you to use <clear> and <location> tags to block inheritance. It does not work. These tags don't apply to <configsection>
Anyway, I'm angry. I bought a product that won't install. I've attached the root web.config

There is one other entry in the forums also with no resolution:
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=8744&p=37545&hilit ... %27#p37545

The product installs just fine. But your installation is non standard, and as such is going to require additional effort and expertise on your part to complete. Integrating multiple IIS applications is rarely simple.

Have you tried removing the duplicate reference just to see if it's the only conflict?

In the case of the configsection, you're going to have to take those elements out of the sub-app and add them the configsection of the parent app. As you've learned, Web.config files will do inheritence. So certain aspects of a web.config can only exist in the root web.config. Other aspects can exist in the parent and sub-app web.config files however inheritence will have to controlled by you.

There is plenty of reading on the web.config properties and behavior on the Microsoft MSDN site. It's kind of mind-numbing at times, but a few cold Pepsi's should get you through it :)

Hi,

My business, JMA Web Technologies, has integrated AbleCommerce and Sitefinity. We can sell you the files, so all you'll need to do is style it. Here is the demo site: http://www.ablesf.com/
