I am considering dropping paypal as my credit card processor. I would like some suggestions on who to use and if possible what rate you are being charged per transaction. Thanks!!

We are using Paypal Website Payments Pro. I get the merchant rate because we do over 10k per month, so its only 2.2% + 0.30 Not to mention people can use paypal to checkout. If you find a lower rate, please let me know. Keep in mind if you have a merchant account through your bank you have to factor in those fees along with the transaction fees.

I deal in an international business. So for handling the safer transactions with the clients the offshore merchant account helped me a lot. I think this is better option.

I use Authorize.Net with my bank as the processor.

Bank (processor) charges are pretty minimal for my volume, and I never, ever see the issues with ANet that are so common with PayPal. Missing payments, delayed payments, error log messages etc all go away once you get away from PayPal.

I still offer PayPal as another payment choice along with Google Checkout. GC is pretty stable too, just remember that GC only lets you hold an authorization 7 days.......

I have used CyberSource since starting our AbleCommerce back in 2009. It was one of the options that our bank suggested and helped implement.

We switched our Merchant account from http://www.unitedbankcard.com/ to http://www.heartlandpaymentsystems.com/ (NYSE - HPY)
a couple of months ago. Both merchant providers offer Authorize.Net, so switching from one provider to another required only
changing Authorize.Net credentials.

Heartlandpaymentsystems is one of the few merchant providers on the market that has closed the cycle and is not Merchant Account service
re-seller. With Heartlandpaymentsystems we where able to reduce Visa/MC Non-Qualified rate from 2.2% + 1.6% + $0.25 per transaction to 2.3% + $0.03

If your business is located in U.S/Canada and you are processing more than $10,000/month Visa/Master Card transactions it is definitely worth contacting
heartlandpaymentsystems.com and request free estimate.

Bill Bracken is the person in Boston area we worked with : http://www.heartlandpaymentsystems.com/billbracken/

The issue we are having with unitedbankcard.com is that they are still asking for $350 merchant account termination fee even though we have been
processing with them since 2006.
