"Product Sales Breakdown" report calculations

I am currently using the "Product Sales Breakdown" report to calculate a royalty to be paid to an author of a product. This reports give the total quantity sold of an item and the total amount sold however it is only calculating it from the list price. If a product has volume discounts this report does not take into consideration that the item may have been sold at a cheaper price.
For example, if a customer "A" buys 1 book at $10.00 list price and customer "B" buys 5 books and gets a discount to $8.00 per book the report would calculate 6 sold for a total amount of $60.00 which is incorrect.
Does any have a fix for this issue or a work around?
