7.0.4 email templates - how to assocaite with content file?

So, the interface for email templates changed from 7.0.3 to 7.0.4, and I can't figure out how to associate an email template with a content file. There have been issues in the past with using the edit box to put email templates in. What gives with this loss of functionality?

This is still the case, but its with FCK editor that it corrupts NVelocity scripts in Email templates. On add/edit template screen you can simply copy your template contents into the text area and it will save it with no corruption. FCK editor is triggered when you click on the notepad icon next to the content text area label rich editor support. Make use of only default text area and your scripts will be OK.
