Third party pricing database

Hi all,
I'm a fairly experienced web developer who is new to AbleCommerce and I'm looking for someone to point me in the right direction on something.
I have a customer who has purchased AbleCommerce 7.03 to display products and handle purchasing. However, they use a third party ERM system to manage customers, products, and pricing. Every night we do a push into Able from the third party ERM to update SKUs, but the pricing needs to be done with a real-time database call into ERM based on each customer's log-in. (The system is for trade customers who all have accounts already.)
I believe this thread shows me where and how I can insert the right code to do this as customers add products to their shopping cart, but I need to display proper (third-party-controlled) pricing before the product is added to the cart.
Is there an "earlier" point where I can alter a product's pricing at the customer level? Creating group pricing in Able is out as my client has specifically required that they not manage customers in Able at all.
Anyone know where I should be looking?
