Purging Users table

We were in the Users table today to find a specific record, but found that the anonymous users have not been clearing out, so they date back to the last time we did some manual work with them (some 8 months). This has made it impossible to get through the table, as there are literally hundreds of thousands of entries (at least). We have the maintenance set to clear after 5 days, but it does not appear to be doing so. Is there any way to force the maintenance to run and clear out all those entries?

Go to Administration > Configure > Maintenance page and look at Anonymous User Maintenance section. Specify the number of days you want to retain them.

That setting has been at 5 days for more than a year, but we still have hundreds of thousands of anonymous users going back to several months.

Is it possible to have anonymous users that have NOT placed an order to be deleted at a faster rate than anonymous users that HAVE placed an order?
We have anonymous user maintenance set to save for 45 days. Most of our products are custom builds and it is not uncommon for a customer to make additions to an order during the production process. Our production cycle averages 4-6 weeks, but can stretch to 8-10 weeks. It looks like an anonymous customers card info is being deleted along with the rest of the anonymous account info.
We have a large number of tire-kickers (400k+ for the last 45 days). There are currently over 700K users in our users table and this is impacting performance. We need to keep the information on anonymous users that have placed a record, but we need to purge the tirekickers at a faster rate. Can this be done?
Thanks,
