AVSResultCodes

Can anybody point me to a resource on what the different codes mean, or specifically, what the difference between an M and a Y is? Both say 'Match' in the order admin area.

If I am not mistaken, avs should be verification of postal code and street address.

Hello,

This tends to vary by gateway, which gateway are you using?

PayPal Payflowpro for credit cards and PayPal

The reason why I am asking is because I'd like to know whether the street matches, the zip matches, the street and zip match or no matches.

Does this table match the responses recorded by Able?

Hello,

Yes that does look correct. I'd suggest finding the one specific to payflowpro to be sure, as for some reason I'd thought it could vary by gateway.

Hi Mike,

The best I can find is this document (pdf) that seems to state the only valid response codes are:

AVSADDR AVS address responses are for advice only. This
process does not affect the outcome of the
authorization.
Alpha
Y, N, X, or
no response

AVSZIP AVS ZIP code responses are for advice only. This
process does not affect the outcome of the
authorization.
Alpha
Y, N, X, or
no response

But in my transaction table I also see a U and an M. Is there something I am missing?

Hello,

Yep it's in the document and it's a bit different than skipjack:

Y The submitted information matches information on file with the account holder's bank.
N The submitted information does not match information on file with the account holder's
bank.
X The account holder's bank does not support AVS.

Perhaps those are the CVV codes? As I doubt you'd have many U (unavailable) AVS entries using payflowpro.
