Time out issues

Post by roadkill » Thu Apr 22, 2010 8:27 pm

I searched for forums and wasn't able to find anything. Has anyone had any issues with major timeout issues for sales, who's on, marketing affliates, to and from the home page, etc. It takes forever to get around the backend at times and at times it fly really fast. Any links suggestions. We increased the timeout but that didn't fix it. The sites are http://www.roadkilltshirts.com and http://www.badideatshirts.com if that matters. We have 1 plug in for our t-shirt selector. It happens on both sites.

Thanks

Mike

Mike,

That plug-in is a db HOG when you copy the settings from one shirt to the rest in the same group. But in normal operation (i.e. front-end browsing or any other admin function), you should not even notice it is there.

First check to see if the slow-downs correspond to times when someone was updating the templates. If not, then I think the slow-downs are unrelated to the plug-in.

You will need a server expert to remote in and take a look.

Andy, give me some ideas on what I might need to look at. I have 10 stores that i support all running IIS and SQL 2005 and mike's are the only 2 that do it. I even have another store on his same server and it doesn't have the same problem he is having.

Thanks!

Chris

I'm sorry Chris. That is definitely not my area of expertise. I don't know where to start looking.
